They are finally showing some of the models they are using. NPR has a description of the models the US government is using: https://www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2020/04/01/824744490/5-key-facts-the-white-house-isnt-saying-about-their-covid-19-projections?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=npr&utm_medium=social&utm_term=nprnews&fbclid=IwAR3trvrAHXq9VqCW84raytleeDvGUzGiVsT3uPZbPT3p3jZgDy-D68uxhhA&fbclid=IwAR0UzSdydE2DXH7FBRk9RszYRl0W386FoCHSqF13mHcVW7jdLYDn8C5W6mU They seem to be ignoring this one: https://www.imperial.ac.uk/media/imperial-college/medicine/sph/ide/gida-fellowships/Imperial-College-COVID19-NPI-modelling-16-03-2020.pdf I think these models are underestimating how much this is going to spread considerably. I am a chemist and I work in a lab. Sometimes I work with dangerous acids. I have worked with them for thirty years. I understand the hazards that are associated with acids. They can cause serious injuries or death, if they are not handled properly. I know that with the proper personal protective equipment and laboratory procedures, recommended by health and safety professionals, I can work with them safely. I wear gloves, safety goggles, and face shields when working with acids. Acids do not have a political agenda. They are not a hoax. They are not going to just go away. Hydrofluoric acid is not just another acetic acid. I would never try to handle acids without gloves to demonstrate that I do not need to live in fear. I am not afraid of acids. If I said I had the right, as an American, to work with acids without gloves, I would be stupid, since it would only result in me getting burned. When working with a highly contagious, deadly virus you should follow the recommendations of the ...

I did not post yesterday due to not having a computer. I had lasagna and German's chocolate cake for dinner. Someone online asked how many people died of the flu compared to Covid-19. Abut half that many last year, so far: What I think is happening in the US is about 1/3 of the people are afraid to go out of their houses and are doing a good job of sheltering in place. About 1/3 of the people are doing some reduced social contact but still have to go to work and such. About 1/3 of the people are going about doing exactly what they were doing before and completely ignoring any restrictions. I heard someone say that if everyone stopped moving for two weeks the virus would disappear. But if a significant portion of the population keeps moving around then the virus has a chance to continue to spread and basically we trash the economy without getting any of the benefit. I think the US is about to learn a very hard lesson. Most people around here look at New York and think yea...
